Sonos S1 Controller App Reviews

Had this app for several months after getting a Sonos speaker as a gift. The sound is great and love the small size. Its also relatively portable. The cons are 1) the app cant find the speaker about every tenth time I use it. Only way around it is to restart my iPhone (yes, everything is up-to-date. 2) The Spotify part of this app is very clunky and hard to use compared to Spotifys web-based access and ROKU app. Fix those two items and itd rate a 5.

The magic of Sonos is its simplicity in design and ease of use... Many members of my family have Sonos so when we visit with each other, its a perfect platform for family musical mischief as we each try to control the sound of the rooms... Pure joy...

Very frustrating app for use with iPhone. Perhaps the good experiences posted here are based on other brand of phones. Skipping and just not playing some songs are just the begining. The quality of music, the "Presence" of the music is Not there. Very dissapointing considering cost. I was hoping it worked to keep me from spending money on Bose but without doubt the Bose has this type of speaker, app and configuration beat. So, to the app developers, you have a lot of work to do on the app. And to Sonos? They have a long way to go before anyone who truly appreciates music will see you as a contender. Loud sound can be purchased a lot cheaper than what I paid for the Sonos5. I was looking for clear and good- quality music and Sonos falls short of the mark. Tried every sppace- distance from wall, accoustic advantage point, (app eq which is a joke), only to be flat.

I use my Sonos everyday and love it. Couldnt live without it!!

The sound is really, really good. I have the Play 3 and I do like it a lot. However, it should be noted that there is no audio input nor bluetooth connectivity which means this thing ONLY works over a wifi connection, the phone tells it what to play and it goes online and connects to whatever streaming music service or cloud player you choose and then it plays the selected tracks. That is a bit limiting and gets annoying at times. The bigger Play 5 does have an audio input plug which is way more convenient. Id love a speaker that does what my sonos does plus bluetooth plus audio input connections, that would get 5 stars, this one gets only 3. But it does sound really good.

Great app. As soon as I pull in my driveway I am turning on Sonos. Love it.

Installed Sonos in 4 zones 2 years ago. Takes just a bit to get it working just right and eliminate dropouts, but then its just easy, almost magical. We listen to music all the time now. Pandora did the trick for us until a couple weeks ago when we subscribed to Apple Music and then easily linked it to Sonos. Buy, use it, listen to it. You wont be disappointed.

Easy to set up. Nice rich settled out of the play fives. Easy to expand and nice integration with streaming music services. The interface could use a little upgrade, but it still solid.

This is the best app/speaker/music system out there...Ive tried most. And they are continually improving an already excellent system. My only real want is functionality front the lock screen. Not everything, just the basics...like Pandora.

I am an avid Sonos fan and initially thought the app was superfluous as I was comfortable with the Sonos Controller. Now, I am hooked. What could be more convenient than being able to access Sonos anywhere in my house? From adjusting the volume to changing music sources, reassigning music to different rooms, I have full functionality from an app that is extremely intuitive and extremely reliable. PLUS, there is the added advantage of accessing ANY Sonos system connected to your local network. Visiting someone with Sonos? No problem! A few clicks and you are sharing your music or controlling the music in your room. Got a second home with Sonos? No problem, a few clicks and you are there will full functionality. These folks know what they are doing!

Sonos has solved our whole house audio problems and it just works. Fully controllable by any device. LOVE IT

Ive had Sonos for many years and I love its crystal clear sound. The only thing I would like to see is an inexpensive capability to stream to the Sonos system using Bluetooth.

So many apps just dont deliver, but Sonos does! Works as expected! Always updating and expanding!

Weve had a Sonos system for at least ten years. We continue to be impressed with the hardware and software. It is a great way to aggregate all your music services - Rhapsody, Pandora, SiriusXM, etc. - and have flexibility throughout your home.

The speakers are great, have them all over the house and outside.

The Sonos system has quirks but the app and hardware make for a delightful listening experience. I like the ability to stream local stations along with music services and my own iTunes content. Recommend to others who want to take the hassle out of whole house listening.
