Sonos S1 Controller App Reviews

Id give the app five stars, as Ive always been very happy with it and sonos speakers, but I really feel the app needs a native watch app!

So it seems that the majority of these reviews are of the speakers and not the Sonos app. So let me first say that the speakers themselves are 5 stars but the app is well what I rated it. I purchased a Play:1 today and after an hour returned it simply because of the annoying limitations of the Sonos controller. I love the iOS stock Music app and having to use Music from the controller was not an ideal experience, I couldnt play any songs from my smart playlists, there are no lock screen controls and no way to control anything from my Apple Watch. I realize there is a workaround to get AirPlay working but I dont want to have to spend $400+ dollars to access that function or spend an hour trying to get a hack or other workaround to use on the Play:1. So sadly it looks like Sonos wont be for me which is a shame since Ive wanted to start to investing in a Sonos system for a while now. I just simply cant do it because of the app.

Great product...great app. Love the powerful grouping and ungrouping of zones feature to customize my experience based on the needs at the moment. Subsequent volume controls are very intuitive as well. Well done!

Im delighted by this app - it allows us to play music, podcasts, etc. from our library, favorite radio stations, Pandora or Spotify anywhere in the house AND our phones serve as remotes! A couple of small Sonos speakers were all we needed.

Enjoy the flexibility and convenience it gives me. Wish it was better sonically....stereo separation and range limited.

Sonos, oh what did I do before you? Cables, proprietary docking station (Bose et al), Blue-tatatoofy. I did it all. The app works nicely and I can stream from my PC and Mac libraries...all controlled from my app. The tuning function in the app is excellent. It produces the correct sound, resonance, etc for your room. You can have more than one speaker per room and enable multiple channels/surround sound. 10/10 would buy again.

Quick setup, unbelievable sound quality, and music music music!

Great system, pretty good interface, an occasional hiccup here or there but when you consider that youre moving music from your phone virtually anywhere in the house, pretty small price

Awesome sound in any setting. Perfect for "shared walls" settings. Crystal-clear sound in every room throughout the entire unit without having to crank up the volume to a degree that might bother the neighbors. All from a small easy out of sight unit without sacrificing anything in quality of sound with an unlimited access to music that is easy to use. Highly, highly recommend this product!

Simple and easy to use with lots of features. Love how seamless the connectivity is over wifi and can play from anywhere in the house, all connected. Wish I could afford more speakers!

Had researched sonos vs orb audio for years and finally pulled the trigger on sonos based upon one simple truth. What do I need a tuner for? Now that Apple Music and tunein radio is available whats the point. The system is flawless I agree the app could be better but this review is not about the app. I think its phenomenal the different zones and the ease at which you can set it up and control it. Very happy.

The app does its job, but there are some basic functions missing, such as being able to display recently added music first. Which I find really annoying.

App regularly doesnt sense the speaker even when an inch away from each other. Always having to re-connect. I wouldnt call it a hard app to master but it has a steeper than necessary learning curve. Sound on the speakers is great but man do I wish the app were less fussy.

I love my Sonos system! It is flexible, easy to use and sounds great! I cant imagine using anything else! I highly recommend this system!

I am using Pandora, SoundCloud, and Amazon Prime with this app. Works great!

Great app. Great sound from my Play:5 and two Play:1s. Fills my apartment with crisp highs and deep bass. Love it! Well worth the investment.

The speakers are pricey but sound good. I like all of the options in the software. Third party app for voice over sonos works pretty good. Hopefully in a future update youll be able to sync the sound from a device with any of the speakers.

Have been using Sonos products for over a year and a half and couldnt be happier. Sound quality is great. Application is easy to use and its great that Apple Music is now supported.
